Many agencies need your help all year round. Check out: The 2007 Holiday Directory - A Comprehensive Guide to Volunteer Opportunities, Agency Wish Lists and Services Offered to the Community This Holiday Season. This publication is a collaborative effort of the Volunteer Center Orange County and 2-1-1 Orange County. You’ll find 35 pages of information about various OC help agencies and dates/needs of services and/or items.

On-Going Classes - Orange. St Joseph Hospital

The Community Counseling Department of St Joseph Hospital is offering a PACE Training Class. The PACE (Psychological Alternative Counseling for the Elderly) program offers opportunity for adults to be peer counselors in their own community. Volunteers receive ten hours of training on aging, communication, and the special needs of older adults. Sessions are scheduled year-round according to demand, and require a 2-hour commitment for five weeks. For graduates to become PACE Volunteers, there is a minimum commitment of three months and regular attendance at supervision meetings twice monthly. Cost is $50 but scholarships are available. For more information, call Mary Wyman at (714) 771-8248.
